How to help your client to access funding: Helping them to help you

An introductory session aimed at exploring ways to manage and assist your clients to apply for funding so they can employ you to do complete 'the joint project'

How often do you hear your clients say there any funding available to do that special project they are always talking about with you? Furthermore, when funding opportunities like the Creative Credits come along, you feel you are too slow in preparing your clients to submit a proposal, or your have register for the scheme but never get any work.

This session seeks to use practitioners' experiences to explore ways of working with clients, to recognise realistic projects from the impossible, and to prepare the grounds for possible tenders or submission when opportunities do arise.

The event will commence with speakers from the sector who will share their knowledge and experience on improving your client management skills, as well as their experience of working with external funding. This will be followed by two parallel workshops, lead by practitioners who have been successful in developing activities and strategies which have enabled them to help clients access funding to employ them on new projects.

This event will be concluded with a facilitated networking session to further assist in generating potential collaborations.

Parallel Workshops - two blocks of delegates rotating

Both workshops will be lead by a practitioner who will share their experience of working with their clients to access external funding. They will focus in their different ways:
  • Preparing and working with clients to keep their interest in their businesses product/service offer
  • Supporting the client through the application process
  • Assisting in managing clients expectation about the projects
  • Fostering good working relationships to entice them to stay
